Reminds me of a guy I sort-of-knew from the town where I grew up. He never left, and by his mid-20s was still picking up high school girls in a base model Cavalier.

Modded, of course. The best part was he had text on the driver door, just below the window (like a fighter pilot): “Jimmy”

And on the passenger side: “You’re bitch” [sic]

But unless you saw both sides in succession, his cuckold braggadocio made absolutely no sense. 90% of people just saw the passenger side by itself, and it looked like he was calling you a bitch.

So weird.

See, the way I see it now is that any car culture is fine as long as it isn’t actually dangerous (the stance to the sidewalls guys). But when you’re just sticking stuff on your car, you aren’t actually going for any sort of “thing”, you’re just sticking stuff on your car.

Also, that FRS looks like it was in a crash and he couldn’t afford to get the replacement panels painted. Hell, it’s so ashamed it’s hiding behind a tree.

Either way they could really learn from the classy autocross guys ... The Drag Racing scene is even getting a little overboard with the grudge cars names like Birdman , Shadow, Lizard , Hyde, Bad 9er .. I understand why they have unique car names to make themselves more identifiable from grudge races - Birdman vs Shadow instead of John Smith vs Paul Smith ..

I agree. Almost all of the people I meet at autox and open track style events are really low key. Even if they are a bit over the top or gaudy are still not obnoxious.
